Climate Camp was an enormous success, and it was great to see so many people taking action. While few recognisable I58 faces showed up, we did see a large number of Christians from different backgrounds passing through the camp, from Quakers and Doubters right through to Charismatic Evangelicals. I58'ers were interviewed for Premier Christian Radio and BBC TV's Heaven and Earth Show, which goes out on Sunday 26th August.
On the Eve of the 24hours of Action, Christians met to pray about the actions and on the morning of the actions, a small group went to St Mary's, Harmondsworth, which will be trapped inside the airport perimeter, with no congregation and potentially no access for those wishing to pray there.
There were a few discussions about the nature of I58 during the camp, and it has been suggested that we need another gathering in the next few months. Look for an anouncement on this site or join our email list to get involved. Also, if you want to carry out an action with friends or a church group, a new website has opened providing all the information you'll need; NetworkForClimateAction.org.uk/.
