Defining I58

I58 is one of those things which proves difficult to define. Indeed, the 'About I58' page isn't something we've agreed as a network, and is more of a general impression of what I58 is about; having realised that our old website was dead, I wrote the page over night in a hurry, knowing it would need revisiting. Well, it seems that the time is coming nearer, and we should fix up some kind of face-to-face network meeting, to discuss both .

Writing as Graham and not the voice of the network, my personal feeling is that we need to find some words for the reality, rather than actually make substantial changes to who we are. It would be good to bare in mind the other groups around us, and how we differ from, say, Catholic Worker or Jesus Radicals UK and transitions taking place in the movements we interact with, such as the post-camp reflective stage that climate camp is currently in.

There's also questions of how we promote ourselves, what we do and don't aim to do during things like Climate Camp, and what we want to be involved with in the future. It seems that I58 could well grow within the next year (it already is growing) and being prepared for that growth will make it a smoother process.

Please use the comments option below to upload your thoughts on when/where the meeting should be and what should be discussed (or use the email list or contact form if you'd rather).
